Connections Behavior Planning and Intervention is excited to welcome Courtney Tarbox, BCBA, and Taira Bermudez, BCBA, for this second session in a brief webinar series for Behavior Analysts! This session focuses on some specific interventions to be used with your learners, including discussion of when, with whom, and how to implement them. About the Presenters

Courtney Tarbox, BCBA, is Director of Clinical Development at FirstSteps for Kids, a community-based autism service provider. Courtney earned her Master of Science Degree in Counseling, with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles. She is passionate about contributing to research that is informed by real-life practice and is actively engaged in treatment evaluation research on topics including complex skill acquisition, naturalistic discrete trial training, compassion and kindness in ABA treatment, and the infusion of acceptance and commitment training (ACT) within comprehensive ABA programs for children with autism. Courtney currently serves on the board for the ACT Special Interest Group and has published a training manual for Registered Behavior Technicians.

Taira Bermudez, MS, BCBA, is a Regional Clinic Director and the Director of Feeding Services at FirstSteps for Kids. Taira received her Master of Science Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from California State University, Los Angeles. She is devoted to treatment evaluation, research, and the dissemination of behavior analysis, including Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT). She is passionate about infusing ACT into clients’ treatment, parent education, as well as her own everyday life with her family. She regularly presents at autism and ABA conferences and is an author of a book devoted to behavioral feeding interventions, as well as several scientific papers and book chapters.

  3. Describe how to implement present moment procedures with children with autism.
