Connections Behavior Planning and Intervention welcomes Lou Lasprugato, Peer-Reviewed ACT Trainer! This event will provide background on ACT and Contextual Behavior Science, introduce the concept of ‘creative hopelessness’ for motivating clients to embrace behavior change, and the ‘ACT Matrix’: a simple and versatile tool for structuring client-led conversations to identify long-term reinforcers, attending to private events that accompany or elicit undesirable behaviors, and target behaviors for clients to engage in.

To get the most from this event, it is encouraged (not required) that attendees bring a partner for practicing the skills discussed.
- Attendees will perform a functional contextual assessment of behavior via The ACT Matrix.
- Attendees will utilize The ACT Matrix to formulate and deliver therapeutic interventions.
- Attendees will undermine unworkable experiential avoidance and reinforce valued action.
