    Connections Behavior Planning and Intervention welcomes Dr. David McAdam, BCBA-D, for an online webinar on intervention strategies for learners with pica behavior.

Abstract:

Pica and related behaviors are a challenge for up to one in four learners with autism. It can also be very dangerous, and difficult to treat.

In this live webinar, pica researcher and Behavior Analyst Dr. David McAdam will share the latest research on effective pica interventions, including assessment and treatment strategies for ABA practitioners. All attendees will have the opportunity to contribute during an AMA with the presenter.

About the Presenter:

Dr. David McAdam is Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics (SMD) at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. His professional training is in the areas of behavior analysis and developmental disabilities including autism and intellectual disabilities. His clinical interests include behavioral interventions for challenging behavior, strategies for increasing the quality of life of persons with developmental disabilities, and teaching independent living skills. His research interests include the functional assessment and analysis of challenging behavior, preference assessment methods for persons with severe developmental disabilities, and interventions to increase the functional engagement of persons with disabilities in community-based settings such as group homes and employment settings.
