Connections Behavior Planning and Intervention is excited to present ACT Skills Assessment with Dr. Ashley Fiorilli a Continuing Education webinar for Behavior Analysts!

This event will be recorded for later purchase in case you register but are unable to join in live.

Abstract:

This interactive continuing education session focuses on using the Psychological Flexibility Skills Assessment Tool to guide the planning and teaching of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-aligned interventions within Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Through a guided walkthrough of one ACT core process (e.g., Fusion/Defusion), participants will learn how to break down psychological flexibility into observable, teachable components. Attendees will engage in a structured case vignette activity where they practice identifying current repertoires, skill gaps, behavioral goals, and individualized interventions using the assessment tool. Participants will also receive a downloadable, in-progress version of the tool to use in their own clinical work, promoting continued reflection and implementation beyond the training. This training is designed for clinicians ready to move beyond ACT theory and into values-aligned action using a practical, skill-based framework.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Use the Psychological Flexibility Skills Assessment Tool to identify current levels of functioning and skill deficits related to a specific ACT core process.
  2. Identify psychological flexibility skills within a client vignette and match them to corresponding checklist categories (acknowledge, approach, or related communication skills).
  3. Formulate behavior analytic intervention plans that incorporate ACT-aligned teaching strategies while preserving conceptual and procedural fidelity to ABA.
