Connections Behavior Planning and Intervention is excited to present a Continuing Education webinar for Behavior Analysts!

This event will be recorded for later purchase in case you register but are unable to join in live.

Abstract:

This continuing education session will explore case conceptualization through the integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Participants will engage in a guided review of an assessment tool grid and role play decisions based on case presentations and client behavior through an ACT-informed behavior analytic framework. The session will focus on identifying how ACT core processes can be observed as discrete, teachable skills within behavior analytic interventions.

By bridging the gap between ACT and ABA, this course will provide practical strategies for assessing and implementing ACT-based interventions while maintaining behavior analytic integrity. Participants are encouraged to bring their own case examples to the session to increase relevant clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Utilize an assessment decision grid to inform clinical decisions that may include ACT as interventions.
  2. Identify how ACT core processes can be observed as discrete skills and integrated into behavior analytic interventions.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Ashley Fiorilli has worked in the field of human services since 2006,  when she started working with infants and toddlers with developmental delays, as well as those who were deaf and hard of hearing or visually impaired. Over the last 9 years, she has worked with individuals with autism and related disabilities in school, home, clinic, and group settings.

In 2014, Dr. Fiorilli completed my doctorate in International Psychology, with an emphasis in Organizations and Systems from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In 2016, she received training on the framework of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), which fueled her passion for helping others across the lifespan and all abilities. She has continued to expand her ACT repertoire over the last 6 years, with symposiums, conferences, practicums, and focused trainings.

In 2019, Dr. Fiorilli began consulting with individuals as a Behavior Analyst focusing on mindfulness, self-discovery, habit and pattern change, and transformative behavior techniques.
