Intro to Organizational Behavior Management for Human Service and ABA Organizations

Connections Behavior Planning and Intervention is excited to welcome Kyle Ditzian, BCBA for a Continuing Education webinar for Behavior Analysts! This event will introduce Organizational Behavior Management and a versatile OBM tool in the Performance Diagnostics Checklist, in the context of managing organizational behavior in an ABA agency.

Course Abstract

This 3 hour web-based event is designed for ABA practitioners interested in learning about Organizational Behavior Management and how it relates to the field and foundations of ABA. Attendees will learn about these topics, become familiar with a specific useful OBM tool (the Performance Diagnostics Checklist for Human Services), and learn about some basic do’s and don’ts with regard to data collection and feedback to performers. This event will be accessible to BCBA’s with little or no experience in OBM.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will distinguish between ABA and OBM as it pertains to scope of practice, population and common interventions.
  2. Participants will describe best practices for conducting a PDC-HS and analyzing the data to develop interventions that address workplace performance problems.
  3. Participants will articulate benefits and drawbacks of various data collection strategies within OBM.
  4. Participants will describe best practices of feedback delivery with regards to frequency, source, content and modality.

About the Presenter

Kyle Ditzian is a PhD student in Western Michigan University’s Industrial Organizational Behavior Management program, a consultant at Performentor LLC, and a co-instructor for Florida Institute of Technology’s OBM Applied! course. He has been doing OBM for businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries ranging from school systems and autism treatment clinics to transportation and manufacturing organizations. During his 7 years of experience, Kyle has tackled a wide range of performance issues using performance management, behavioral systems analysis and high impact training techniques. His research interests are in the areas of functional assessment in OBM and incentive design. Over the last few years, he has been focusing heavily on the issues that human service organizations face in particular and has been honing strategies to tackle their most common problems.
